At Marina Village (Mozza, Casena & Chiki), Balwyck brought expertise in owner representation, leading the way in design coordination and delivering innovative construction solutions. This dynamic project required collaboration among the developer's in-house design team, as well as contractors and artists from around the world.
Balwyck’s involvement spanned the entire project lifecycle—from concept development through construction and into active operations. Our team promoted seamless communication and collaboration across the development team, design professionals, artists, and contractors. Given the fast-track, design-build nature of the project, adaptability was key, as was the ability to identify potential risks, implement proactive mitigation strategies, expedite construction, and maintain rigorous financial oversight.
Throughout the project, we worked closely with Nancy Silverton and her staff, alongside the developer’s Director of Design, providing regular updates to the Director of Development and CEO to ensure alignment with the developer’s vision and high standards.
Situated within Costa Palmas’ Marina Village, Casena offers a distinctive retail experience. Named after one of the early settlers of this peninsula, the shop seamlessly blends Italian inspiration with authentic Mexican charm. Casena is a proud showcase of contemporary Mexican craftsmanship, featuring fashionable home goods and apparel sourced from artisans and designers throughout Mexico. Guests can peruse a thoughtfully curated array of pantry staples and must-haves or indulge in avocado or banana/peanut butter toast paired with a latte brewed from Mexico’s finest beans, all while immersing themselves in the lively Marina Village ambiance. All of this in a delightful open-air setting.
