Ola Baja
East Cape, BCS, Mexico
Personal Home
Overview

As both the homeowner and project manager of this villa in a remote corner of Baja, my role was diverse and deeply personal. It encompassed comprehensive planning and oversight, spanning everything from off grid design and construction to budget management and remote operations. It required making crucial decisions and implementing rigorous cost control measures to align the budget with the desired design and quality. This personal project was the realization of a lifelong dream, a tangible culmination of my skills and personal aspirations which resulted in the creation of a meaningful respite nestled among the serene waters and pristine white sand beaches of the East Cape.

Project Description

The East Cape offers an untouched oasis with serene waters and pristine ivory sands, rekindling our connection with nature and providing a rejuvenating retreat for the mind and spirit. Ola Baja, strategically nestled between Cabo Pulmo’s nature preserve and San Jose del Cabo, invites you on a journey filled with surf spots, taco shacks, and breathtaking beaches—a canvas for soul-enriching self-care, a respite haven after ocean adventures, and a place to reconnect with nature and companions. Ola Baja’s architectural design harmonizes sleek lines, arched curves inspired by sunrises and waves, and hand-troweled plaster mirroring sandy shores. Grand wooden doors open to endless Sea of Cortez views, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor spaces. Ola invites you to be both in motion and at ease; active and in repose. Come be still with us, swim with us, cook and surf with us.
